I. Install and set up Google Fit

1 Installing Google Fit ― https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.fitness

2 Setting up Google Fit is done as follows:

2.1 Open the program and click “Continue as…”.

2.2 Enter the data: sex, date of birth, weight, and height,

2.3 and click “Next”.

2.4 Give permission ― “Turn on” or refuse ― “No thanks” to run the program in the background and automatically track activity. Recommended option to turn this mode on.

2.5 Press “ALLOW” to confirm your permission.

2.6 Give permission ― “Turn on” or refuse ― “No thanks” to use your location. Selecting this option does not affect the operation of MOOW, so choose what suits you best.

2.7 Click on the preferred button if you have selected to turn on the use of the location.

2.9 After these steps, the main Google Fit page opens. It has information about activity duration, cardio points, steps, calories dropped, distance travelled, etc. Initially, all the data is “at zero”, but it will be updated as soon as the tracker is connected.

II. Set up Health Connect

Before you can sync Samsung Health with Google Fit, you must install and set up Health Connect on your phone. Starting with Android 14, Google could make Health Connect a part of the OS.

  1. Download Health Connect from the Play Store on your Android phone.

  2. Open Health Connect.

  3. Tap Get Started.

  4. Select App permissions.

  5. Select Samsung Health from the list of apps.

  6. Enable Allow all or manually select the health data you want to sync.

How to sync Google Fit data to Health Connect

Download and set up Google Fit on your phone and smartwatch before proceeding with the steps below.

  1. The first time you open Google Fit after installing Health Connect, you see a Sync with Health Connect banner.

  2. Tap Get started.

  3. Select Set up from the Sync with Health Connect page.

  4. Grant Fit access to Health Connect data. You can allow access to all data or select the categories individually.

Once connected, Google Fit reads data shared with Health Connect over the last 30 days to pull existing data saved by other services. You can confirm Google Fit is syncing data with Health Connect by following the below steps:

  1. Open the Google Fit app on your phone.

  2. Tap the Profile button from the bottom navigation bar.

  3. Tap the Settings button at the top.

  4. Ensure the Sync Fit with Health Connect option is enabled.

How to sync Samsung Health data to Health Connect

Next, you'll link Samsung Health with Health Connect.

  1. Open the Samsung Health app.

  2. Tap the three-dot main menu icon in the upper-right corner.

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Tap Health Connect.

  5. Open Health Connect and tap Get Started.

  6. Tap App Permissions.

  7. Select Samsung Health.

  8. Select the type of data you want to sync.

  9. Tap Allow to complete the process.

View your Samsung Health data in Google Fit

With data syncing between Samsung Health and Google Fit enabled, you can view your tracked health stats in the latter app. To get a timeline view of your daily activities that were tracked or recorded, switch to the Journal tab in Google Fit. It gives a complete picture of your day's physical activity, including your sleep cycle. Tap an entry for more details like your heart rate, distance covered, energy expended, and more.

[Option 2] Use Health Sync to sync Samsung Health with Google Fit

If you are not a fan of Health Connect or don't want to use it, you can use a third-party app called Health Sync to achieve the same result. Health Sync provides a one-week trial, after which you need to buy a license to continue using the app.

  1. Install Health Sync on your Android phone from the Google Play Store.

  2. Grant the app the required permissions.

  3. Select the base sync app from which Health Sync takes the data first. Select Samsung Health from the list.

  4. Then, select Google Fit as the destination app. Tap OK to proceed further.

  5. Initialize the pairing between Samsung Health and Google Fit by giving your consent to Health Sync.

  6. Link your Google account with Health Sync and Google Fit. Also, provide notification access to Health Sync for its proper functioning.

  7. Select the different health data you want to sync from Samsung Health to Fit.
